Andrew's Bar Mitzvah

The Casares Family has been busy living life and we have not been keeping up with this blog as much as we would like to, but on August 4, 2018, we celebrated a milestone in our family and wanted to make sure it made it to the blog as we play catch up.

Traditions bind us in the Casares family and we truly treasure our family's history.  Our photographer, created a blog post with some highlights, so we hope you will enjoy seeing how amazing this day was for our Andrew and for us as proud parents.  Everyone came together to make it a truly special day and we could not be more grateful for the people in our lives.  The memories will last a lifetime and thankfully through these pictures, we will be able to return to the moments. From generation to generation!

Jersey Shore 2012

Welcome to Point Pleasant! Home of Uncle Joel and Aunt Carol. Family time at its best.
Cousins who don't get to see each other very often are fast friends.
Game time with Uncle Marty. Peter is of course extremely focused on winning.
Uncle Joel taking us on an adventure in his new boat.
Poppa and his Princess. (I guess I do not hold that title anymore :))

These two enjoy every minute on the water.
 Happy kids, happy mom. Score.
 Fishing time!

 Norman Rockwell?

 Got one!

Setting our catch free...
A super fun first day!

Andrew's Piano Recital

Andrew took piano lessons this summer and here is his first performance in the Franco-American Heritage Center. I love how he doesn't even have to look at the music sheet and the bow is outstanding. May he continue to play!

Peaks To Portland Race 2012

We are up early in the morning in Portland to see dad swim his Peaks to Portland Race. We hop on the Y shuttle down to East End Beach to get ready to cheer him on as he swim from Peaks Island. It's about a 2.4 mile swim and it's Maine ocean water, so it.is.cold.
A beautiful morning for the event.

He did it! He comes in 12th overall and 4th in his age group. Booya.
We are so proud!

Last Hike of the Trip

One more last trip to Sand Dollar Beach. What will we find?

Surrounded by beauty.
Andrew helps Olivia dodge the big roots on the ground.
Drip castles at their best.
Swim time! A little chilly today, but it won't stop them.
Besties.
Back at the campsite for pudding!!
Loving on dad. How could you not?
Helping with the dishes in pajamas.
 Everybody helps!

Camping At Its Best

After dinner we walked to the beach to hopefully catch a sunset and some good wind to fly our kite.
Big brother advice or maybe just a kiss!
Ahh, the sand in our feet...
 And it's up!
On the way home we found a froggy friend.
 Well, hello there little frog.
We held onto him for a little while and then we let him go home.
Looking out for deer close to our campsite.
 He was this close!
Finishing off a great day around the fire. Doesn't get any better.

Smiling Moments

 Couldn't squeeze her tight enough.
 Yeah!

 My loves.
...and she is spent.
Grateful for this trip, this time and the realization that I have all that I need.

Sand Dollar Beach

A short drive on the island takes us to Sand Dollar Beach.
Silly us. Happy to be together.
Olivia notices the flowers in the brush.  If there is a flower in the midst of it all, she will find it and want to get a closer look. My naturalist.
We explored, swam, hiked and soaked in the sun.  Camping rules.
